In December 2024, the National Healthcare Security Administration released the Guideline for Establishing Gynecological Medical Service Price Items (Trial). This marks a significant step in deepening the reform of the healthcare system and represents a pivotal shift from a focus on the specific operational procedures of medical services to an emphasis on service output and value demonstration in medical service price management. Guided by service output, the guideline integrates the original gynecological service price items into three categories comprising 84 items. The guideline significantly streamlined the number of projects and clarified their definitions, thereby promoting standardization and normalization of pricing. The implementation of this guideline is of great significance for restoring the true value of gynecological medical services and safeguarding women's health rights across their entire life cycle. This article analyzes the prominent issues in China's current pricing system, interprets the design philosophy and key features of the gynecological guideline, takes practice in Sichuan Province as an example to provide a detailed introduction to the specific path and challenges of local adaptation of national guidelines, thus offering reference for further advancing medical service price reform.
