The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China made clear the importance of establishing the long-term care insurance system. Due to the supply-demand imbalance and structure deficit of professional long-term caregiver, it is urgent to strengthen the top-level design of the long-term care insurance service system and establish a long-term caregiver professional certification and training system. This is helpful to meet the growing and diversified social demand for long-term care service and support the development of long-term care insurance system. Based on the establishment mechanism of current professional skill certification standards in China and the successful experience in long-term care talent training of Japan and the United States, this paper provides some proposals for establishing the professional certification and training system of long-term caregiver in China from the perspectives of collaborative innovation, classified management, and integration of industry and education.
