Oral diseases will damage the physical and mental health of patients and affect their quality of life. As the key link of oral health management, the improvement of oral medical security plays an important role in maintaining the oral health of people. This paper summarizes problems in the oral health insurance in China, such as insufficient coverage, fewer therapy programs, and low proportion of medical insurance payment for oral diagnosis and treatment. Based on the practical experience of developed countries, this paper puts forward some suggestions to accelerate the improvement of oral medical security system, promote the construction of oral commercial health insurance, and improve the level of oral health security service.
