Objective: The paper analyzes the current situation of basic medical insurance coverage for flexible employment personnel in the industries of new business forms, and proposes targeted solutions to improve the coverage rate of basic medical insurance. Methods: A self-made survey scale was used to conduct a questionnaire survey on basic medical insurance participation in 16 cities in Shandong Province through convenient sampling. 162 valid questionnaires were collected. We used SPSS software to analyze the data, applied descriptive statistical analysis to analyze the basic information, health status, and basic medical insurance participation of the subjects, and used multiple logistic regression analysis to study the relevant factors affecting basic medical insurance participation. Results: The basic medical insurance coverage of flexible employees in the new industry was 85.19%, and factors such as family’s economic situation can affect the basic medical insurance coverage of flexible employees in the new industry. Conclusion: Relevant government departments should further improve the design of the medical insurance system, increase the group’s satisfaction with basic medical insurance, and promote the increase in the participation rate of basic medical insurance for flexible employment personnel in new industries.
