Objective: The paper studies the effect of intraocular lens centralized procurement on hospitalization expenses of cataract surgery patients. Methods: According to the first page of medical records in Ningbo City, the changes of disease cost, patient structure, average hospital stay of top 10 hospitals with cataract surgery cases before and after intraocular lens centralized procurement were compared and analyzed. Results: Patients with cataract surgery aged 60-80 years old accounts for nearly 70%. After intraocular lens centralized procurement, the hospitalization expenses decreased by 7.59%, among which the cost of materials decreased by 27.79%. Medical service fees, inspection fees, and drug costs increased by varying degrees, and the average length of stay was shortened by 0.32 days. Conclusions: The effect of intraocular lens centralized procurement on disease cost control is obvious, but the cost structure of different hospitals is significantly different. It is recommended that hospitals strengthen the control of disease cost under the background of DRG payment, incorporate intraocular lens into the national centralized purchase, and further reduce the cost of patients.
