Objective: The paper was to investigate the effects of single-disease ward and nursing management mode on length of stay, cost and readmission rate of patients with prostate cancer. Methods: A total of 94 patients with prostate cancer who was treated in pilot hospitals from January 2020 to May 2022 were selected as subjects and divided into control group (n=47) and observation group (n=47) according to random number table. The control group was given routine nursing management and the observation group was given single-disease wards and nursing management. The psychological status, quality of life, length of stay, cost, readmission rate of the two groups was compared after the nursing management. Results: SAS score and SDS score of observation group was lower than control group (P<0.05). Length of hospitalization, cost and readmission rate of observation group was higher than control group (P<0.05). The score of mental health, emotional function, body aches, physical function, activity, social function and general health in observation group were higher than those in control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Adopting single-disease wards and nursing management mode for prostate cancer patients help to improve their mental health and quality of life, shorten hospitalization time, reduce hospitalization costs and reduce readmission rate, which is valuable to be promoted,.
